The god who sees and hears
The poetry ascribed to David in the psalms, is intimate and daring. He trusts God enough to cry out in frustration and sorrow. He asks for what he needs from God.
In Psalm 13, we pray with him as we bring our own fears, sorrow and frustration to God. Will we also join in the rejoicing, with hearts enlightened by hope? In the letter to the community of Christians in Ephesus, Paul prays for our hearts to be enlightened by wisdom, so we recognize that we are called to hope. Can we imagine how Earth and all creation is also praying for us to recognize the glorious gifts and abundance that is ours in faith?
