‘The Yoke That Fits’

John the Baptist prepared the way in the wilderness. Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, gathered people around the table and embodied God’s kingdom among them. Their ministries looked very different, yet both faced criticism for refusing to conform to the expectations of their day. The world has a way of telling us to shrink our dreams, to become who others expect us to be. But Jesus invites us to lay down those heavy burdens. He offers us a yoke of love, one that truly fits, and so paradoxically frees us to become the disciples God created us to be and to discover the rest that comes from lives shaped by love.
