Standing Tall: Compassion & justice in christ
On a hot Sabbath day, a woman bent over for eighteen years slips quietly into the synagogue. No one notices her — no one except Jesus. He stops mid-sermon, calls her forward, and restores not only her body but her place in the community. This Gospel story is more than a tale of healing; it is a challenge to us. Jesus shows us that true miracles happen when the unseen are seen, when the excluded are welcomed, and when unjust rules are confronted. To follow Christ is to help the bent-over stand tall — in our pews, in our neighborhoods, and in our world.
