In the Beatitudes, Jesus speaks to the poor, the mourning, the meek, the persecuted, and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, and He calls them “blessed.”
The richest people in the world, according to Jesus, aren’t those with the most possessions, but those who have surrendered their grip on the way things are. “Blessed are you who lose your grip on the way things are, for God will lead you in the way things shall be.”
