Indigenous Sub-Committee

The Indigenous Sub-Committee of Wall Street United Church was formed in 2013 as part of our Outreach and Social Action Committee.  Since that time, committee members have worked to provide an educational program involving guest speakers, book studies, courses, and many projects.  We have also met with politicians, written letters to elected officials, and signed petitions regarding human rights and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.  Efforts have also been directed to addressing the Calls to Action that were developed by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Canada.  

As part of our ongoing reconciliation efforts, we are pleased to announce that we will be offering a study this summer of “Becoming Rooted:  One Hundred Days of Reconnecting with Sacred Earth” by Indigenous author, Reverend Dr. Randy Woodley.  For more information, see the poster below.  To register, please contact the church office at (613) 342-5401 or email office@wallstreetchurch.com
